2008 Walmsley weekend

10th & 11th May in Robin Hood's Bay

The 2008 Annual General Meeting was held on 10th and 11th May
in Robin Hood's Bay where the new edition of Foreigners was launched.

New editions of Foreigners and Angler's Moon

Coincidentally, only 2 weeks previously the Yorkshire Post had contained
an interview with comedian and BBC Radio 2 presenter, Mike Harding, who
had said that his favourite book was – would you believe? – Foreigners!

You can read the article here.

Stephanie and Neville

Stephanie Walmsley was presented with a copy of the new book, which sold
so well throughout the day that by late afternoon all available copies of Foreigners
and the recently republished Angler's Moon had sold out.

Fred Normandale
The afternoon's event was 'Fred's Fishy Tales', told by guest speaker,
Fred Normandale, ex-Scarborough fisherman who, despite now being shore-based,
is still very much an active member of the Scarborough fishing community.

Here's a link to the Fred Normandale website.

Setting up camera and sound

A tv production team was present throughout the weekend recording
